Our Programs 

We are a 100% volunteer-run club. Our members come from all walks of life and take on different roles to help our club flourish! 

Discover the many programs we offer for varying rowing levels:

  • Learn to Row

    • Masters Rec

    • Masters Competitive

  • Juniors (13 - 17 years old)

  • U23 (for ages 18 - 23 years old)

  • Para (for persons with physical or intellectual impairments/disability)

Want to take on rowing?! If you do not have previous rowing experience, you must complete the Learn to Row course.

Learn to Row

No rowing experience? Learn the basic technique to get started. All ages must complete a learn to row before joining the club on the water.

Adult 

Our masters program offers recreational and competitive pathways for adults.

Youth

The Junior program is for ages 12 - 17 years old, developing their fitness, teamwork, and leadership skills, while providing opportunities for competition.

Para Rowing

For athletes with disabilities the opportunity to be active on the water and indoors.

Adult

We offer an Adult Recreational and a Competitive Program for Adults (18+) who have completed a Learn to Row.

  • Recreational Rowing is for rowers who want to get fit and have fun.

  • Competitive Rowing is a coached program for experienced rowers. The LRC competes at regattas regionally. 

The on-the-water portion of the season runs from May through October. Indoor training runs mid-November through mid-March.

Youth

Junior Rowing Program 

The Junior program is geared towards young athletes aged 13-17, focusing on Skill Development, Safety, and Fun. Junior rowers are encouraged to achieve personal, as well as team goals.  The Juniors have the opportunity to attend Regattas throughout North America. The program consists of regularly scheduled coached practices.

All participants must have completed a Learn to Row prior to registering in this program.

Suggested Funding Opportunities:

Jumpstart Program has individual child grants to support families who need financial assistance to get their kids into a sport or physical activity. Please see their website for more information.

 

Pathway to Potential (P2P) is a program that makes funds available to support residents in the City of Windsor and Essex County, who may not have access to recreation activities. Visit your municipality's website for more information on P2P:

Para Rowing

Para rowing provides athletes with disabilities the opportunity to be active on the water, get involved in a fun and friendly club environment, and participate in a variety of competitions. Modifications are made to rowing equipment, coaching techniques, and program structure to meet the needs of athletes on and off the water.
